| WHAT IS IT? | Regenera Activa is a regenerative modality which uses a propriety device and a kit used to treat alopecia (baldness). It uses the body’s own tissue to produce cells which have the capacity to regenerate and correct the defect. It is also known as Autologous Micrograft Transplant. It is backed by good studies that show its efficacy and safety in scientific journals. It has also been studied for vitiligo and wound healing. |
| HOW LONG IS THE PROCEDURE? | It is a short procedure, with no or little downtime, taking around 30-40 minutes. |
| WHO CAN DO IT? | Any individual with alopecia of androgenetic type or female pattern hair loss can get the procedure done. It is also done in patients who want to maintain their hair especially those who have a positive family history of baldness. |
| HOW OFTEN DOES IT NEED TO BE DONE? | It is recommended to be done once a year, but your dermatologist will decide this based on what other medication you are on, your lifestyle habits and what the grade of alopecia is. |
| WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE ENTAIL? | It consists of taking small pieces of tissue from the scalp area behind the ear. This procedure is done under local anaesthesia. This tissue is then prepared in the Regenera Activa Device, and the cell suspension consisting of regenerative cells is injected back into your scalp just like P-R-P. There is no suture (stitches) needed because the size of the tissue taken is very small and heals on its own. |
| IS IT SAFE? | Yes! The procedure is extremely safe. It is autologous, with the donor and recipient being the same individual. This prevents the risk of transmitting any infection. The kit is sterile, and the entire system is a closed one with no risk of exposing the sample to contamination. |
